Welcome to the Crab Capital of the World--Crisfield, MD! We've now settled into our little three bedroom in the Harbor Lights Condominiums. We chose the location because it is new, has a great view of Jane's Island Nature Reserve and the Tangier Sound, which leads to the Chesapeake Bay. It also has other conveniences such as washer/dryer and access to a pool...and of course plenty of seafood. The owner Marie is amazing and went out of her way to help us and most importantly Sandy--our local of all locals and the property manager of the condo (pictured below). She has been teaching us "city folks" how to meld into this little fishing village and pitching in to help us in any way. 
Fresh Catch!
The second night we were here she brought us fresh cleaned soft shell crabs which Cole and I fried up in a little hushpuppy mix and olive oil for the family. Magnificent!
Livin Local!
The Delmarva (Delaware-Maryland-Virginia) region is also famous for their watermelons. We decided to sample the local melon. Our judge Cole gave them his seal of approval!
Merry has been stopping at every roadside farm stand she can find. This guy had great corn and corn relish which we topped on crab cakes one night. We're also pretty excited about the upcoming Crab Skiff Races...though we hope we aren't here that long!
