Two days later on July 7th we said goodbye to the pretty sunsets of the Preid of Dixie and departed Canada for the two day trip back to Atlanta. As we drove our friends called again--"were we really serious about adopting?" Yes, were in...it really wasn't the champagne talking!
We discussed our plan and the reality if this really would come true...juggling our jobs, our finances, moving Cole...decorating a room? Also could we get all the adoption paperwork done in time? We stayed positive...nothing ventured nothing gained.
We travelled to our stop for the night in Columbus, Ohio where we stayed with our good friends Sam & Michelle. Always welcoming, they had birthday presents waiting for Cole and a nice meal as we refreshed from the road. It is always a nice way to break up the trip to reconnect with good friends. The next day we were barely on the road when the email came through...the birth mother & father wanted more information about us. We scurried to send the blog we kept on Cole as we awaited him from Guatemala: http://www.bringinghomecole.blogspot.com/. We also sent our biographies.
We arrived home to find the nicest present waiting for us...dinner, a stocked fridge and stocked kitchen all courtesy of our friends the Arvid's, who had visited us in Canada. It would come in handy as Merry and I put our action plan together.
