Meeting Georgia

August 5th - 8:30pm
We stopped for gas and changed before heading across the mightly Chesapeake Bay. Soon we were pulling up to the hospital and parking. We were all tired, but incredibly excited. A flood of emotions washed over us as we scrambled to find parking and locate how to get up to the nursery inside.

We were warned by other adoptive parents to be weary of the nurses...some will love you, some will shun you. Other parents had said they had experienced the family of the birth parents trying stop them from visiting the baby. We would not have that experience at all...

On the fourth floor, we came upon a double door with a phone outside. We picked it up and announced into the phone "we're the adoptive parents of Baby Georgia". We were welcomed in like regular parents. The nurse at the front desk said, "you better go in the nursey and meet her then!" Wrapped in blankets with a little white stocking cap, she was sleeping in her little plexi crib in the warm nursery. The nurse wheeled her out for us to get to know her in our own little room. She said we could come by at any time to visit, feed and change her.

Merry held her first and had the biggest smile on her face. I snapped a few photos and then fetched Mom and Cole to share in the joy.
