We started the day off with a bang:
All of two days old, Georgia was heading out of the hospital! Everything went well with the departure. We cruised south to Crisfield and settled down for the night. (VIDEO COMING SOON)
Georgia dined every 3-4 hours on 2oz of delectable Similar with Iron formula. We use every feeding to bond with her. Her little eyes are just beginning to open and focus on us. She is responding to our touch and soft voices.
- New Mommy Merry and Nana went to the hospital, fed little Georgia and spent some loving time with her.
- Daddy found a rental property...a nice three bedroom, two bath condo in a little town called Crisfield. The owner was amazing and went out of her way to help. Set in a little commercial fishing village, it was new, quiet, clean and had all the conveniences of normal life. Check!

- We visited the lawyer's office and signed all the paperwork. Check!
- Daddy and Cole hit Target, shopped and stocked up for the trip south. We cleaned the Suburban up for Georgia. Cole even helped Daddy install the car seat base. Nana made sure we had some food at the hospital cafeteria and we waited for our checkout time...it was 5pm.
By the time 5pm rolled around, Mommy and Georgia were ready for checkout. Little Georgia had just finished eating and was dozing off on her shoulder...Merry wore a big smile--the proud and beautiful look of a new mom!

Nurse Evelyn was to guide us out and we said our goodbyes to Nurse Renee, who checked us out. We also passed well wishes onto Nurse Wanda, who did such a great job making us feel welcome at the hospital and who introduced us to little Georgia.

(VIDEO COMING SOON)I scouted out a Tiki Bar across the street for a beer to calm those Daddy nerves and found a great little seafood restaurant called SideStreet Seafood. Bringing home crab cakes, fresh shrimp, soft shell crabs, flounder and hush puppies was all the seaside comfort food we needed to get down to our first night with little Georgia.
The first night went very well. Nana Alice, a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital for 40 years including a good portion of it in the nursery made an instant impact helping us settle in. So many great tips--including the on the knee burping--have been great.

Merry and I were jumping up at the slightest squeal or noise she'd make. It was if she was all prepared for this. Georgia, we're glad we have you sweetheart!
