Thursday, August 7th. We received the bad news. Our lawyer informed us the Georgia law with regard to private independent adoptions has changed. This news is heartbreaking as all the paperwork we hustled to complete before leaving Georgia must be resubmitted through an agency. The FBI fingerprints, background checks, 10 hours of preadoption courses, drug screenings and a home study (back in Atlanta), all the references our friends did for us must all be done. This is tough news to take as we just want to bring our little girl home.
Merry and I shocked by the news and a little angry right now. However we have little Georgia and that is really what matters. We'll continue to focus on the positive!
