We are counting down the minutes til midnight tonight! The waiting period officially ends and Baby Georgia is all ours. There was never any fear, as Birth Mom and Dad are an outstanding couple, but it is an important milestone to Merry and I.
We also have another reason to celebrate today. Our paperwork is complete! We had a flurry of activity today and our big thanks go out to our MVP of the day--Uncle Billy! He marched into the APD 911 offices, presented our request and secured our documentation. After calls to our Councilwoman Carla Smith's office and the Governor's office, our documentation (child abuse background report) was secured by our rep at Families First Ruth...nice work Ruth!
If the paperwork arrives in Maryland on Tuesday, then we could have approval by the end of the week from Maryland (hopefully sooner) and Georgia shortly thereafter. We're guessing home by 25 August? It is just a guess right now, but we're going to work every angle!
